Job Description
We are looking for a physical therapy aide to support our physical therapists. In this role, you will help with patient intake, prepare equipment and treatment areas, and assist patients with mobility challenges within our facility. To be successful, you should have a good understanding of how a physical therapy facility works and be able to work under the supervision of physical therapists. We are looking for someone who is organized, pays attention to detail, and cares about providing excellent patient care.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Helping with patient intake
- Preparing equipment and treatment rooms
- Communicating with patients, physical therapists, and other staff members
- Assisting patients with walking, sitting, and standing, and using wheelchairs to move around the facility
- Watching patients do prescribed exercises and reporting any concerns
- Recording patients' progress and updating their files
- Performing basic treatments, like applying ice packs or heat pads, as directed
- Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and therapy areas, and changing linens
- Doing administrative tasks, such as ordering supplies, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferably certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a plus
- Familiarity with office software, like MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Express
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities
