We are looking for an experienced pediatric cardiologist to help care for our young patients. Your responsibilities will include performing tests, making diagnoses, and creating treatment plans for children with heart and/or cardiovascular issues. You will also work with other doctors and surgeons to provide the best care for our patients.
To be successful as a pediatric cardiologist, it is important to enjoy working with children and be able to handle difficult and emotional medical situations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Consult with patients and their parents to understand their symptoms and health concerns.
- Prescribe tests, treatments, and surgeries as needed.
- Keep detailed records of patient appointments, tests, and treatments.
- Perform tests to check the health of patients' hearts and circulatory systems.
- Analyze test results to determine the effectiveness of the heart and circulatory system.
- Use medical imaging equipment to diagnose and treat heart and/or cardiovascular conditions.
- Assist or perform surgeries, including complex procedures.
- Prescribe medication to treat heart and/or cardiovascular issues.
- Offer support and guidance to patients and their families receiving long-term care.
- Conduct research on heart and cardiovascular diseases affecting children.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
- 3-7 years of internship and clinical residency training, with a focus on pediatrics.
- Completed fellowship program in pediatric cardiology.
- Passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).
- Certification in pediatric cardiology from The American Board of Pediatrics.
- Active and valid medical license in the state of practice.
- Attention to detail and excellent bedside manner.
- Strong communication skills and ability to empathize with patients.
