What does a Mechanic do?

A mechanic is someone who inspects and fixes vehicles, machines, and light trucks. They are also called service technicians and they work in indoor garages. Their job is to make sure everything is working properly, keep track of supplies, put together parts, and make repairs.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and skilled mechanic to join our team. As a mechanic, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and fixing all types of machinery and vehicles. This includes checking supplies, inspecting vehicles, and putting together machinery.

To be successful in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit and have a good understanding of basic mechanic tools, service, and diagnostic equipment. We are looking for someone who pays attention to detail, communicates well, and provides excellent customer service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regularly check and fix machinery, systems, and vehicles.
  • Talk with customers to understand their concerns and figure out the problem.
  • Put together parts according to instructions.
  • Inspect machines and run tests to find any issues.
  • Create a plan for maintaining and upgrading equipment.
  • Keep track of work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
  • Monitor supplies and order new parts when needed.
  • Give advice on maintenance and prevention to users of machinery and vehicles.
  • Assess vehicles and let customers know about any problems that could prevent them from passing inspections.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification from a vocational or trade school is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
