We are looking for a friendly and professional leasing agent to help us market and lease properties. The leasing agent will make sure the properties are well-maintained, advertise them to potential tenants, and screen applicants. They will also maintain good relationships with property owners and tenants, create a positive work environment, and represent the company well. The leasing agent will also help new tenants get settled and assist with office tasks.
To be successful, you will need to balance the needs of property owners and tenants, and meet occupancy and rental goals. The ideal candidate is organized, good at multitasking, and has strong communication skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Input and update information about landlords and tenants into a computer database quickly.
- Inspect properties and report any issues to maintenance staff.
- Advertise available properties and give tours to potential tenants.
- Screen applicants to make sure they meet requirements.
- Complete lease applications and verify information provided.
- Inform applicants of the results of their application.
- Inspect properties when tenants move in and out.
- Communicate with tenants to answer questions and address concerns.
- Keep documentation organized and secure.
- Collect rent, security deposits, and other fees.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience as a leasing agent or in a similar role.
- Good understanding of the real estate industry, property management principles, and relevant laws.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
