What does a Clinical Analyst do?
A clinical analyst is responsible for managing computer systems in hospitals and medical facilities. They ensure that these systems run smoothly and are constantly updated and improved. This role is also known as a clinical systems analyst or clinical data manager.
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and skilled clinical analyst to oversee our computer systems and optimize our workflow. Your responsibilities will include installing and developing networks and software, training medical staff on how to use these systems, managing a team of data management staff, analyzing clinical data, identifying areas for improvement, and performing system upgrades and maintenance.
To excel in this position, you should have experience and knowledge of computer systems and databases, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and supervise both medical staff and computer technicians.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and install computer systems, databases, and software to store clinical data.
- Collect and process clinical data, including data entry, verification, filing, and protection.
- Analyze clinical data to improve workflow and ensure accurate technical documentation and reports.
- Train hospital and medical staff on how to use computer systems and accurately capture data for future analysis.
- Supervise and train data technicians on technical procedures and software to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform regular system upgrades, quality control checks, and maintenance to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Communicate with medical personnel to determine data analysis and classification requirements.
- Develop training materials, user manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Stay updated on database technology and best practices.
- Adhere to organization rules and regulations, as well as local, state, and federal laws.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, life science, or related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in data management.
- Knowledge of SQL programming may be required.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Cloud platforms, and other software technologies.
- Proficiency in analyzing data using statistical software within strict timelines.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and other regulatory practices and laws.
