Job Description
We are looking for a CAD operator to join our team and help us create detailed drawings for our organization. As a CAD operator, you will need to be able to understand both written and verbal instructions, use CAD software to create technical drawings and blueprints, communicate with engineers and architects, visit job sites, stay updated on the latest CAD software, and work long hours to meet deadlines. You should also have the ability to explain technical information clearly to both our team and our clients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Reading project instructions and meeting with clients, engineers, and architects to make sure that all technical drawings and blueprints meet the required standards.
- Creating rough sketches and using CAD software to make detailed drawings, plans, and blueprints.
- Visiting job sites to gather information, understand limitations, and determine if designs are feasible.
- Keeping software, drawings, and other documents up-to-date.
- Handling feedback professionally and making changes to drafts as needed.
- Making sure that all drawings follow building regulations and engineering principles.
- Communicating any potential design issues to engineers and architects.
- Conducting research when necessary.
Requirements and Qualifications
- An associate's degree in drafting or a related field.
- Additional courses in CAD software.
- Practical experience using CAD software.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction.
- An apprenticeship is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to take constructive feedback.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
