We are seeking a detail-oriented architectural draftsman to join our team. Your responsibilities will include creating technical drawings for various structures, incorporating precise measurements and building codes, and using CAD software to generate 3-D models.
To excel in this role, you should have a strong understanding of CAD software and the basics of sketching and design. The ideal candidate will contribute to creating architecturally sound and visually appealing designs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing building specifications, codes, and site plans
- Creating technical drawings based on architects' designs and specifications
- Using CAD software to include accurate measurements, calculations, and construction details in drawings
- Printing CAD schematics for architects, construction managers, and engineers to use
- Entering CAD data into building information modeling (BIM) systems to create 3-D models
- Preparing drawings, charts, and records using CAD and traditional drafting methods
- Visiting construction sites to take measurements and calculate dimensions
- Collaborating with architects and engineers to ensure designs meet building codes and regulations
- Staying up-to-date with the latest developments and technologies in architectural design
Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certification in architectural drafting or a related field
- American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) certification is a plus
- Prior experience as an architectural draftsman is preferred
