Job Description
We are looking for a reliable apartment maintenance technician to manage the day-to-day tasks of our apartment building. This includes cleaning common areas, doing small repairs, and handling any maintenance issues that tenants may have. It's important for this person to be organized and thorough in their work. They should also stay updated on new technology that could make their job easier.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Oiling door knobs, locks, hinges, and gates as needed.
- Fixing clogged toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and outside drains.
- Replacing carpets and wood floors.
- Installing and fixing electrical wires, plugs, and switches.
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming common areas.
- Painting common areas and outside walls.
- Taking out trash from common areas.
- Keeping track of maintenance supplies.
- Ensuring that fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, alarms, and emergency exits are in good working condition.
- Unlocking apartments for tenants who have lost or forgotten their keys.
- Scheduling repairs that require special skills.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an apartment maintenance technician or in a similar role.
- Certification in HVAC, CMRP, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds without help.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work on weekends if needed.
