VoIP SBC Engineer

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a subject matter expert of Session Border Controllers (SBCs) on the DISA Defense Red Switch Network team in support of an enterprise VoIP management system ? GSM-O II contract at Fort Meade, MD. The successful candidate will have an SBC background responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of SBCs and their network and element management systems on a high-paced, fast-moving program. The candidate will be a member of a team that interacts with technical and non-technical individuals including customers and vendors, but primarily with our subject matter expert teammates. In this role, the candidate will provide technical assistance, administer configurations, upgrade software, develop and/or update related documentation, ensure applicable STIGs are applied and documented, conduct and support testing on work performed, recommend enhancements, and troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with the various sub-systems and network components.

Responsibilities:

Leverage your technical background to understand the customer's goals and identify the best integration solution for their needs

Perform customer (end user) system integration by following instructions and executing processes

Test and troubleshoot configurations to confirm successful integration

Communicate with customers during integration and post-integration including responding to emails, facilitating meetings or phone conversations, participating in solving technical problems

Author/update documentation

Identify configuration errors and check appropriate log files to debug issues

SBC NMS EMS Protect/Analytics PKI Certificate management

Core Qualifications:

12+ years in VoIP/SIP/SBC engineering, network engineering, or telecom infrastructure

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting SIP, VoIP, and upgrade and integration issues

Experience working in enterprise VoIP environments provisioning and maintaining the change management of routes

Ability to write technical documentation, design network diagrams, and train teams

Configuring Active/Standby SBC clusters, load balancing, and failover

Knowledge of geo-redundancy, SIP trunk failover strategies

Troubleshooting packet loss, jitter, and latency issues using Wireshark or packet analyzers

Strong knowledge of IP networking, QoS, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and DNS.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Detail-oriented

Expertisewith Ribbon SBCs and element and network management system product

Telephony Routing and Translations skills

Experience working with Virtual Machine cloud platforms

Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX/VMware ESXi vSphere

Knowledge of IP networking, basic IP routing, firewalls, Switches and Security

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Oracle SBCs and element and network management systems

Knowledge of Sonus carrier grade products is considered as significant advantage

Pay Range:

Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
