Job Description


We are looking for an effective Delivery Van Driver to direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. You will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.

Responsibilities
  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision
  • Constantly develop knowledge of the logistics ecosystem
  • Serve as a liaison between our logistics partners and carriers
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and 3PL operations
  • Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
  • Work with Operations Manager to optimize budget
  • Liaise with drivers, employees, customer service, and transport companies
  • Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
  • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
  • Solve package and driver issues as they arise
  • Drive company transit van to outer markets to deliver cargo to fleet of drivers
  • Responsible for reconciling all drivers packages when distributing and collecting them
  • Be able to frequently move boxes weighing up to 30-50 pounds

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Lead or Supervisor
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability manage staff
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience driving a transit van
