Transport Refrigeration (Reefer) Technician

Beltway Companies is currently seeking a skilled Refrigerated Unit Technician with a minimum of 5 year of experience to join our team. We are the largest commercial truck dealership in the state of Maryland, committed to providing first-class services to our clients, employees, and communities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in refrigerated unit diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.

As a Refrigerated Unit Technician at Beltway Companies, you will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of refrigerated units and related systems. Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our clients fleets of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel truck refrigeration units.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in refrigeration systems.

• Conduct system performance tests and ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Replace or repair faulty components, such as compressors, condensers, and evaporators.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.

• Collaborate with the fleet management team to schedule and prioritize repairs.

• Stay updated with industry standards and advancements in refrigeration technology.

• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in diesel truck refrigeration unit repair and maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, including electrical and mechanical components.

• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software for refrigeration units.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Valid driver's license and/or reliable means of transportation.

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.

• The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range would be $25 to $45 per hour
