Job Description
Holland & Knight is seeking a Mid-Level Associate for their industry-leading global Technology Transactions team. We are looking for candidates with 3 to 5 years of technology transactions experience at a large law firm to advise clients on a variety of complex commercial transactions across broad range of clients and industries. The technology transactions experience should include strategic information technology and business process outsourcing, ERP licensing and implementation; software development and licensing agreements, master service agreements, and various ?as a Service? (aaS) arrangements. Experience working with startup and venture-backed companies, as well as the venture capital investors investing in these companies, commercialization of technology and product counselling,;, marketing and advertising agreements, e-commerce arrangements and similar agreements, joint venture shared services agreements, and M&A support is a benefit but not required. Ideally, candidates will be located in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas or Boston but we will consider candidates in other offices.

This position may be filled in Illinois. In accordance with applicable Pay Transparency Laws, the pay range for this position in this location is $260,000 - $365,000/yr. This range may not be applicable to other locations. An individual?s actual compensation will depend on the individual?s qualifications and experience.
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating a variety of complex technology, intellectual property, and data-related commercial contracts.
- Strong understanding of technology, intellectual property, and data privacy laws.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a strong attention to detail.
- An interest in or experience with artificial intelligence and quantum computing is a plus.
- This candidate must reside and be barred in a jurisdiction where we currently have a U.S. office location (Offices | Holland & Knight (hklaw.com). Ideal candidates will be barred in Georgia, Illinois, Texas or Massachusetts (but can reside and work in one of our other office locations as long as also barred in that location). We believe that there is significant value in working together in person and will expect the candidate to work in the office at least three business days per week.
