Job Description

Direct Counsel is seeking a Technical Advisor to join the Life Sciences IP Group of a leading Am Law 100 firm in New York City . This role offers the opportunity to work on complex intellectual property matters in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and chemistry while collaborating with a top-tier legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct advanced analysis of scientific literature, patents, and technologies related to life sciences IP.
Support patent litigation and pre-suit due diligence investigations in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and chemistry.
Collaborate with attorneys and experts to assess patent infringement and validity issues, including preparing detailed reports.
Assist with technical preparations for depositions and identify and engage key technical experts.
Handle additional related projects and ensure high-quality, cost-effective deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Key Qualifications:

Advanced degree in Physical/Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field ( PhD preferred ).
Post-doctoral or industrial experience is highly desirable.
5+ years of experience in technical analysis within biological, pharmaceutical, or chemical life sciences.
Strong analytical and written communication skills, with expertise in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or chemistry.
Prior experience in a legal or professional services environment is a plus.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
