Overview

Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced

Technical Accountant Consultant

to support a complex lease accounting project. The role will focus on ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS across a global portfolio of

leases, encompassing both domestic and international operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise from a

Big 4 accounting firm , along with experience working in

large, complex organizations .

This is a

remote role however our client prefers a consultant who could travel to Cleveland, OH if necessary.

The contract is long-term in nature, requiring a professional who is adaptable and comfortable with interfacing across multiple departments and regions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the technical accounting aspects of lease accounting under

U.S. GAAP

and

IFRS , ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Analyze and implement process changes within a variety of lease accounting systems and tools.

Work closely with cross-functional teams including real estate professionals, non-accounting staff, and international stakeholders to streamline lease accounting processes.

Assist in the enhancement of internal controls related to lease accounting, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.

Support the organization in understanding and managing the global lease population, providing insights into both U.S. GAAP and IFRS requirements.

Manage large volumes of disparate processes and lease systems, offering strategic guidance on how to optimize them for efficiency and compliance.

Provide assistance in implementing process changes and controls both inside and outside of accounting tools.

Must-Have Qualifications

Proven experience at a

Big 4 accounting firm .

Strong background in large, complex organizations with substantial lease portfolios.

Deep knowledge of

U.S. GAAP

and

IFRS

accounting standards, particularly as they relate to lease accounting.

Experience working with global lease populations and complex system environments.

Ability to work across functional teams and communicate effectively with non-accounting professionals.

Expertise in driving process changes and enhancing controls within accounting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with international lease accounting processes.

Familiarity with a variety of lease accounting systems and tools.
