Systems Engineer/Systems Administrator

Join our vibrant team as a Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator! In this exciting role, you'll take charge of independently designing, constructing, and managing a variety of technology environments from the ground up. We're looking for someone who is self-motivated, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and has a wealth of knowledge across different technology platforms. You'll play a crucial role in supporting complex systems and ensuring the seamless functionality of our IT infrastructure.

In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain systems crucial to our space initiatives. This is primarily and in-office role in our Arlington, VA office.

Key Responsibilities

• Design: Build and configure multiple technologies and systems from initial setup through full lifecycle management.
• Administration: Manage and maintain IT systems, including both physical and virtual environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Troubleshooting: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system and application issues, collaborating with team members for efficient solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including specifications, configurations, and reports.
• Security Compliance: Implement and oversee security measures to comply with governmental and organizational protocols.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering and IT teams to align system designs with operational requirements and best practices to deploy new infrastructure, services, and software solutions.
• Perform other professional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing and administrating enterprise IT environments.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance, read in within the past 2 years.
• Strong understanding of network architecture and hands-on experience with networking concepts and configurations, including firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems, with a focus on server administration.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and management of virtual environments.
• Experience with security compliance and ability to assist in maintaining confidentiality for classified systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience within the aerospace or defense industries.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong background in cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms, with experience managing configurations, access controls, and application integrations.
• Strong project management skills and familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Pay Transparency
This job posting may cover multiple career levels. To ensure greater transparency, we provide base salary ranges for all roles, regardless of location. Our standard pay ranges are based on the role's function and level, benchmarked against similar growth-stage companies. Compensation may vary based on geographical location, as certain regions may have different cost-of-living factors. The final offer will also be influenced by the candidate's skills, responsibilities, and relevant experience.

Compensation Range

The Compensation Range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000.
