As a System Development Engineer, you will/may:
Create, improve, or invent tools and/or applications that are a part of a larger system.
Write code that is secure, stable, testable, maintainable and has minimal defects.
Understanding of a variety of technologies such as hardware, software, networking, and operating systems, and how they interact with one another.
Participate in team design, scoping, and prioritization discussions.
Build systems and processes that enable other builders through improved safety, agility, and automation
Seek to learn the business context and technologies behind your team?s system implementations.

Basic Qualifications
Currently working towards a Bachelor's or Master?s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or other equivalent discipline, with an expected conferral date between September 2023 ? February 2025 and/or completed your degree no more than 24 months ago.
Experience with coding, scripting, automating in at least one language (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell).
Experience with open-source technologies (e.g. Linux, Spring, React).
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with TCP/ICP networking fundamentals and application of IP protocols such as: DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, and SNMP.
Strong object-oriented design and coding skills developing on Unix-like operating systems
Experience with distributed computing, programs and systems.
Documentation and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Experience with automating and simplifying team development, test, and operations processes.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
