Job Description
Herrick, Feinstein?s New York office Feinstein LLP is seeking a skilled Staff Attorney with at least 5 years of landlord-tenant litigation experience to join our Litigation team. This role involves handling a high volume of routine and complex cases, including appearances in Housing Court and Supreme Court, client advisement, and motion practice. Experience with corporate governance, condo lien foreclosures, and general real estate litigation is a plus, but not required.
Applicants must be admitted in New York State. Applicants must have a desire to work on lean teams; gain hands-on experience with client contact; and strategize on all aspects of a matter.
Job Duties:
- Manage and litigate a docket of residential and commercial landlord-tenant cases, including non-payment proceedings, holdovers, HP proceedings, and related housing disputes.
- Appear in Housing Court and other relevant tribunals to represent firm clients.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery materials, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients on matters involving rent stabilization, regulatory compliance, and eviction proceedings.
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure effective case progression.
- Stay current on changes in relevant laws, regulations, and court procedures.
The range of base salary* the Firm reasonably expects to pay for this role is $145,000 to $180,000. The actual base salary for this role within the above range will depend upon number of years out of law-school, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.?
