Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant on a contract/consulting basis to join our team. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) role that will play a key part in our month-end close process, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and various reporting and financial analysis tasks.
We have budgeted to transition this role to a full-time position in Q1 and are exclusively considering candidates who are interested in converting to a full-time employee.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries with supporting documentation
• Create monthly reporting packages for management & investors
• Monthly reconciliations of cash, credit cards & bank accounts
• Manage day-to-day functions of A/P and A/R
• Process semi-monthly payroll
• Compliance reporting for insurance, banks, taxes, 401(k) plan & payroll
• Assist with annual audit & tax with CPA firm
• Work with operations team to maintain company metrics & KPI reporting
• Manage special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis

Qualifications

• Degreed accountant with 1-3 years' experience in audit/assurance or tax role with CPA firm; or strong track record in a corporate accounting role
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting, including revenue recognition
• Hands-on experience participating in the monthly close cycle a plus
• Strong Excel & financial analysis skills are required
• Experience with NetSuite ERP a plus
• Experience in the tech industry preferred (software, SaaS, B2C)
• Self-motivated, resourceful, forward-thinking mindset
• Strong attention to detail & accuracy, with the ability to also understand the big picture
• Positive, team-oriented person who can proactively interface with entire organization

Contract Details

• $35 - $45 / hour based on experience
• ~3 month contract (ideally will convert to FTE in late Q1)
• We are exclusively considering candidates who are interested in converting to a full-time employee
• Salary on full time basis: $65k - $80k (based on experience) + 10% yearly bonus AND an excellent benefits package

Equipment

• As a contractor / consultant, you will need to provide your own work equipment
• As a full time employee, we will provide you with all essential work equipment

Schedule

• Core Hours: Monday - Friday (9am - 4pm MT)
• 40 hours per week within core hours

Qualification

Bachelor's Degree
