Software Development Manager, Amazon Pay

Amazon Pay is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead and motivate a team building the next generation of our payments platform and products. As the Software Development Manager, you will:

Lead a talented team of Software Development Engineers in the delivery of key product features and enhancements that drive critical business metrics

Oversee the development of solutions across a diverse technology stack, including service-oriented architecture, UI frameworks, big data, and AI/ML

Shape the product direction by working closely with Principal Engineers to evolve the design and architecture of the team's products

Establish and uphold high standards for software quality and engineering processes

Provide technical leadership and direction to your team of seasoned Software Engineers.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of engineering team management experience

5+ years of engineering experience

5+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

Experience managing a team of high calibre Software Engineers developing complex, world class, scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
