AWS Serverless Compute Fabric, at the heart of the Serverless movement, is a fast growing currently internal service that is becoming the default compute infrastructure for a wide range of applications including Lambda, Athena, Glue and Bedrock.

We are seeking Software Development Engineers interested in driving the evolution of virtualization and containerization platforms similar to Lambda. The Serverless Compute Fabric organization is responsible for delivering AWS Firecracker based microVMs to AWS customers. Our team is responsible for procuring EC2 servers that are used to create the Firecracker-based VMs which execute customer code. We are responsible for reserving capacity, managing fleet composition, safely integrating new instance types, selecting economical means of capacity management, and providing methods for customers to right size the fleet based on their business needs.

In this role you will work on helping develop features for capacity management systems that reserve and launch EC2 instances. You will get the opportunity to work on languages such as Java, TypeScript, Ruby, and Go. The team manages over 80,000 bare metal EC2 servers world wide. If you are excited about cloud computing, interested in being part of an organization that is building a highly scalable, available, and low latency compute platform, and being part of a team that values quality, then come join us as we make Serverless Compute Fabric the most successful serverless compute platform.
