Direct Counsel is actively seeking a seasoned Senior Workers? Compensation Defense Attorney to join an excellent Los Angeles based firm in their dynamic workers compensation team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience and play a crucial role in representing this firm's clients in matters related to workers? compensation defense.

Key Requirements:

10+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
Strong research, writing, and litigation skills.
Knowledge of insurance coverage (preferred, but not mandatory).
Capability to work on cases involving a national carrier providing excess reimbursement policies to qualified self-insureds for workers' compensation insurance.

Responsibilities:

Handle complex legal matters related to workers' compensation defense.
Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis.
Draft and prepare legal documents, including memoranda, motions, and briefs.
Provide strategic legal counsel to clients.
Represent clients in hearings and trials.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Admission to the bar in California.
Proven track record of success in workers' compensation defense cases.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
