Are you a skilled, thoughtful designer ready to make an impact? As a UX Designer in ES Tech, you will be responsible for crafting the next generation of HR products. In this role, your design work has a direct impact on the lives of millions of Amazonians, helping them address their HR needs efficiently while still feeling personal and human.

We're looking for a Senior UX Designer with a passion for improving the customer experience and driving high-visibility programs. In this role, you will lead the design vision, strategy and execution of customer experiences that get upstream and are created to scale. You'll advocate for accessible design and work backwards from customer problems and needs. You will work closely with other UX designers and researchers on the team, product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand the needs of employees, managers, and HR team members across all of Amazon?s businesses, worldwide. You'll drive UX design from early-stage concepts all the way through final delivery and launch.

Key job responsibilities

Own end-to-end product experiences that are accessible, delight customers, and deliver on business objectives.

Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs with detailed specifications, and functional prototypes for mobile and web interfaces.

Champion a user-centered design culture through creative collaborations. Build cross-functional partnerships to deliver seamless customer-centric experiences.

Present design work to cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership for feedback and review.

Develop and drive the adoption of design guidelines, best practices, processes, and tools across the organization.

Contribute to the professional development of your team and colleagues through coaching, mentorship, and modeling Amazon's leadership principles.

About the team

The Amazon Employee Services Technology (ES Tech) team is building cutting edge solutions to streamline human resource processes. Our team includes UX Researchers, Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers. We work on projects ranging from rapid, iterative design on tactical projects, to major strategic efforts that rethink how we provide support to our employees. We work together with internal stakeholders to create user experiences that help, surprise and delight.

Basic Qualifications

6+ years of design experience

Have an available online portfolio

Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax

Preferred Qualifications

Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes

Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
