Senior Technical Writer, OTS - Customer Growth

OpsTech Solutions organization, with an unparalleled scope, is part of the Amazon's WW Operations & Robotics team. We design, deploy and support IT infrastructure, devices and Services across Amazon's Global Fulfillment Centers, Transportation (Middle Mile, Last Mile & Logistics), and Specialty Customer Solutions (Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, Lockers, Pantry, Campus, and Prime Air). Our customers range from Amazon lockers to Amazon's Air Hubs.

We're looking for an experienced Technical Writer eager to make complex product and engineering designs easy to use and meaningful for stakeholders. We?ll need you to hit the ground running, interacting daily with Product Managers, engineers, operations and robotics team to help guide their onboarding to our various products. If you are able to work independently, communicate clearly, partner with cross-functional teams, and steer a project through to publication that will be used by thousands of developers, come grow your career with us.

Key job responsibilities

As the first Technical Writer on the team, you will be responsible for creating best-in-class documentation used by developers all over the world. You will craft guidance for component creation and porting, APIs, SDKs, and code samples. You'll create reference implementations, describe best practices for integrating with existing environments, document how to onboard to compute, network, device management services, and more.

About the team

Ops Tech Infrastructure Product Management (OTIP) owns, defines, and operationalizes products and programs to deliver highly reliable IT infrastructure and world class IT support, with the direct objective to scale our support efficiently, improve service delivery speed, and drive new innovations for customers. OTIP establishes, practices, and enforces Ops Tech Infrastructure's product development life cycle. The team supports global operations customers (first, middle, last mile) and internal teams.

Basic Qualifications

Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field

3+ years as a technical writer in a relevant field

Experience designing and authoring developer documentation

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience creating API and SDK documentation

Ability to write example code in one or more of the following: Java, Kotlin, Python, React Native

Familiarity with Linux development

Experience with publishing systems based on Markdown or HTML and version control such as GitHub/Git

Experience with AWS services.

Experience using and following a style guide.
