Senior Software Engineer - Pre Silicon Verification

The Cisco Distributed System Engineering (DSE) group is at the forefront of developing products that power the largest networks in the world. The networking industry is going through a massive transformation to build the next generation infrastructure to meet the needs of AI/ML workloads and continuously increasing internet users and application. This team builds products by harnessing the potential of open-source technologies while pushing the boundaries on Systems and Silicon Architecture.

You will be working among engineers who are passionate about tackling complex technology, building large scale distributed systems and comfortable working with open-source communities and technologies. You will be part of a fast-paced work environment and responsible for end-to-end product development and production support.

Automation of tests

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree

5+ years of experience in pre-silicon verification or system validation in the semiconductor industry

Testing experience with NPU's (eg Broadcom Tomahawk 5, Broadcom Tomahawk 4, Silicon one Leaba NPU, etc)

Understanding of networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLAN, MPLS) and SoC architectures

Experience in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Perl, or C/C++

Experience leading technical teams or projects

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with NPU architecture and data plane processing

Experience in testing few or more of the NPU Data packet processing functions (example IFG, Reorder, RXPP, TXPP, SMS-HBM)

Experience with Traffic mgmt, PDVoQ, ICS, PDOQ, CGM and congestion management

Experience with VoQ scale, PFC, ECN
