Senior Software Developer

The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Software Developer to work in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the DPAS mission. DPAS is the Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) for over 50 DoD agencies and Military Services.

The responsibilities for this position include all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and automated testing within an Agile and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery model. In this role, you will join a dynamic team that is singularly focused on providing world class solutions to our customers in an exciting, collaborative, and inclusive atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop web applications based on requirements and under the guidance of SMEs and Systems Architect.

Prepare design and development documents. Performs analysis, development and maintenance of standards and metadata.

Participates in meetings with various leads to understand requirements and build a robust design that meets the modernization requirements.

Perform query optimization, debugging and tuning to improve performance.

Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of code.

Develops and implements unit test cases.

Participates in design reviews to ensure development adheres to standards & best practices.

Establishes and monitors data quality initiatives as determined by the program.

Interacts with customers, functional teams and development team to gather and define requirements.

Collaborates in team environment and develop new solutions within a culture that embraces standard processes and delivery of high-quality solutions.

Support production operations as required.

Security Clearance:

US Citizen; Currently possessing or ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 4+ years of software development experience, or a Master?s Degree in a related field with 2+ years of experience. Additional years of relevant experience, training, and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

Demonstrated Proficiency in all aspects of programming using standard tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Azure Dev Ops/Microsoft Team Foundation (TFS) and SQL Experience with MS SQL Server highly preferred.

Proficiency with one or more object-oriented programming languages.

Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint).

Proficiency in SQL technologies. Must possess strong data analysis skills to support data quality efforts.

Strong analytical and technical skills with ability to analyze issues, assess technical risks, and recommend sound solutions in a timely manner.

Proficiency in analyzing data flows.

Strong working knowledge of Agile methodology.

Candidate must have the ability to work independently (unsupervised) or within a team environment.

Strong oral and written communications skills with ability to create comprehensive engineering documents.

Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines.

Ability to learn, excel and deliver at a quick pace is required.

Goal oriented and self-motivated

Must be able to explain technical details and issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and be able to clearly and concisely explain system concepts and problems.

ASP.NET Model View Controller (MVC) or ASP.NET Web Forms.

React / Redux.

.NET Core.

Entity Framework/LINQ.

SQL Server 2014+ and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).

Microsoft Visual Studio.

Azure Dev Ops/GIT.

Micro services.

Progressive Web Apps(PWA).

Mobile development.

SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

Active Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
