Senior Machine Learning Engineer, AGIF

As an SDE on our team, you will design, build, and maintain systems for evaluating our best-in-class models. You'll also work closely with our Applied Scientists to develop tools that support our modeling and evaluation team.

Key job responsibilities

Develop and maintain key tooling for model evaluation.

Work closely with product teams, and scientists to to create new techniques and tooling around emerging research capabilities and evaluating models to meet customer needs.

Manage project prioritization, deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder communication.

Illuminate trade-offs, educate the team on best practices, and influence technical strategy.

Collaborate closely with Applied Scientists to investigate and plan experiments, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility.

Operate in a dynamic environment to deliver high quality software against aggressive schedules.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Excellent knowledge of theory and practice of ML

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
