Are you passionate about crafting, leading, and delivering high impact engagement programs while building strong and durable relationships with political, workforce, and economic development stakeholders?

Our team works with AWS leadership and subject matter expert (SME) teams from across the business to realize the AWS global expansion strategy and we are looking for our newest team member. This role will lead our East Coast external affairs and community engagement portfolio as an individual contributor, while serving as a mentor and resource across the broader Economic Development team.

Our team is a part of the AWS Global Public Policy organization and we work seamlessly with our internal infrastructure customers, public policy teammates, and our colleagues from across Amazon to build collaborative partnerships in our host communities.

The ideal candidate will exhibit a deep understanding and competency in the global data center landscape, AWS data centers, local political engagement, corporate community engagement (strategy, programming, and execution), educational programming, economic and workforce development. The ideal candidate will travel across the region to engage with key partners, lead, and deliver localized programming.

This role requires an inventive leader who uses high judgement to deliver results and operational excellence in highly ambiguous environments.

Key job responsibilities

Effectively communicate the scope and benefits of AWS investments to external stakeholders at all levels, disciplines, and via varied modalities.

Develop strategic engagement plan that supports expansion and incentive procurement.

Exhibit ownership of tailored but scalable engagement programs and plans to include the mechanisms to manage multiple efforts across the region while also coordinating and communicating internally.

Seamlessly align across internal customers, to include peer economic development teammates, as well as AWS real estate, legal, tax, finance, and PR teams, among others.

Work in support of and in collaboration with teammates to craft and facilitate local engagement programs and events for educational and work force development programs.

Leverage local relationships with key stakeholders to support emerging and in-flight expansions projects.

Excellent organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication with bar raising attention to detail.

Work independently in a constantly changing and often ambiguous environment exhibiting high judgement.

About the team

This candidate will work in collaboration with four additional internal teams to support AWS expansion strategy by building win win partnerships with key stakeholders in our host communities and dynamic partnerships in the community.
