As a Senior Backend Engineer II , you will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering solutions for complex, undefined problems across your domain. You'll work across multiple components, shape technical direction, and help align engineering efforts with key business goals. Your work will elevate code quality, system scalability, and team performance, while mentoring peers and driving a culture of engineering excellence.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance, user-focused applications that operate reliably in a 24x7 production environment.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable code with strong test coverage and robust documentation.
• Architect and scale distributed systems , applying thoughtful design principles and relevant patterns.
• Lead and deliver large-scale, cross-functional technical projects that align with strategic business outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers, share expertise across the team, and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
• Drive technical decisions, guide system design, and create technical roadmaps with engineering managers.
• Take full ownership of key services, improve system observability, and ensure resilience through effective monitoring and alerting.
• Provide thoughtful and actionable performance feedback to team members on a regular basis.

• Proven experience working with MongoDB at scale .
• Strong product mindset with a focus on building performant, accessible, and scalable features.
• Expertise in writing clean, efficient, and well-structured backend code.
• Solid understanding of message queues , background job processing, and system design.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus , New Relic , and GCP logging .
• A passion for mentoring and supporting the professional growth of teammates.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby .
• Experience with third-party API integrations, including rate limiting, error handling, and observability .
