About the Job:

We're looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Accountant to join our team in Golden Valley, MN. This key role requires a strong understanding and proven application of GAAP standards. You will report to the Financial Controller and collaborate across departments to support company-wide financial initiatives.

As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include accurate execution of core accounting functions, participation in month-end close processes, and preparation of financial reports. Additionally, this role will involve providing support for HR-related duties. Responsibilities:

  • Prepares journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process for entities, as assigned.
  • Participates in and completes monthly group financial reporting.
  • Responsible for the accounts payable function. Activities include completion of payments, vendor maintenance, and the receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling of invoices.
  • Communicates and resolves discrepancies with related party producers and third party vendors, overseeing the process through resolution including the review and processing of credit memos as appropriate.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable, including the timely invoicing to related parties for products imported.
  • Working with Tax consulting firm to accurately maintains records for freight, duty and excise tax. Compiles excise tax returns as required each monthly.
  • Responds to audit requests and assists with budgets and tax compliance work as requested.
  • Requires strong inter-departmental communication and collaboration.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Salary Transparency

The pay range for this position is $60,000-80,000/year. Please note that the higher end of the pay range is reserved for candidates with extensive experience and qualifications that exceed the requirements of the role. Most new hires typically start at the beginning of the pay range, with opportunities for growth and increases based on performance and tenure.

Requirements

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP standards and financial reporting
  • Experience managing AP/AR and daily accounting functions
  • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications required
  • Prior experience with ERP systems (Acumatica preferred)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • High level of mathematical aptitude
