Title: Senior Accountant
Report to: Executive VP Of Finance
Status: Full Time
Compensation: $85,000- $98,000 / Annually
Work Schedule: Hybrid, Monday -Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM ( remote days will be confirmed upon hire)
Office Location: Manhattan, NY 10017

Overview:
The Senior Accountant will provide accounting support to major accounting areas for HousingPlus, including general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fundraising,
Essential Job Functions:
General Accounting:
Responsible for month end close procedures, including developing and maintaining reports and files on account balances
Maintain general ledger accounts, create monthly close journal entries
- Prepare complete balance sheet and income statement account analyses in a timely manner
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of revenue accounts related to each government contract. Propose and record adjusting entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and credit card account reconciliation
- Record cash deposits in bank and book interbank transfers
- Responsible for Positive Pay banking review and upload
- Review 1099 year-end forms before going out to payees and IRS.
- Assist with audits, to include providing reconciliations, preparing schedules, and organizing files for review
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Accounts Payable:
- Work as a back-up to an AP staff
- Assist in cost allocations for all expenses
Payroll:
- Review and reconcile federal and state quarterly tax returns.
- Manage payment submittal for payroll benefits
- Record payroll journal entries
Requirements
Qualifications:
B.A. in accounting required.
5 or more years of experience in accounting or related function.
Detail and deadline-oriented self-starter.
Highly organized, proven problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Proven, solid software skills and experience with automated accounting systems; Fund-EZ experience preferred.
