Scrum Master (Contingent)

ARETUM is seeking a dynamic Scrum Master with expertise in Agile methodologies and cloud computing environments to support high-performing teams. The ideal candidate will facilitate Agile processes, empower teams to self-organize, and ensure alignment with project goals and best practices. This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and technical understanding to foster collaboration and deliver high-quality outcomes in a DevOps environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including project planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog maintenance.
• Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress to stakeholders.
• Maintain and update process documentation to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Support development teams in adhering to Agile principles and best practices.
• Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency and radiate information.
• Proactively identify, prioritize, and resolve defects/bugs, ensuring smooth project progression.
• Develop and maintain team standards, tools, and best practices for continuous improvement.
• Identify and remove impediments, fostering an environment free from distractions.
• Conduct or participate in program retrospectives for both qualitative and quantitative improvements.
• Partner with Program and Project Managers to provide day-to-day technical oversight of projects.
• Empower teams to self-organize and promote accountability across all levels.

Requirements

• Certified Scrum Master with 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in cloud computing environments.
• Proven experience working in a DevOps environment.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and principles.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personality types.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand technical issues at a high level.
• Effective communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Agile coaching experience with the ability to mentor teams on best practices.
• 5+ years of experience in critical thinking and problem-solving roles.
• Federal Government contracting experience.
• Familiarity with Section 508 compliance standards.
• Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or additional Agile certifications.

Additional Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Clearance: This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance as mandated by our federal client. U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required.
