JobResponsibilities:
- CollaboratewithDevelopmentandotherteamsonmarketandsiteselectionforutility-scalewind,solar,andstoragefacilities,focusingprimarilyontheEasternInterconnection(MISO,PJM,SPP,SERC).
- Supporttheinterconnectionprocessforprojects,includingassessinginterconnectionoptions,filingnecessaryapplications,evaluatingutilitytechnicalstudies,anddevelopinginterconnectionstrategies.
- Developathoroughunderstandingandevaluationofpotentialinterconnectionalternativesforvariousprojects,consideringcosts,benefits,andchallenges.
- Provideassessmentsoftransmissionmarketdynamics,suchasLMPs,nodalbasisrisks,andcongestionrisks.
- Performpowerflow,MISOERIS/NRIS,andPJMGDanalysistoprovideactionableinformationforinternalstakeholders.
- Scope,request,review,andverifyinterconnectionstudiesandotheranalysesfromtransmissionprovidersandconsultants.
- Tracktransmissionprojectsandoveralltransmissiondevelopmentwithinvariousmarkets.
- Developandmaintainastrongworkingknowledgeofregionaltransmissionsystemsandproviders.
- DuplicatestudiesperformedbytransmissionprovidersforQA/QC,oftenworkingonshorttimelineswithincompleteinformation.
Requirements
- Bachelor'sdegreeinElectricalEngineeringorarelatedfield.
- ExperienceperformingsimulationsusingTARA(MISOERIS/NRIS,PJMGD),Powerworld,and/orPSCAD
- Minimumof5yearsofexperienceinTransmissionandInterconnection
- Strongknowledgeofgenerationinterconnectionstudiesandthequeueapplicationprocess.
- Abilitytoprioritizerequestsandresolvemultipleissuesacrossvariousprojectsunderdemandingscheduleconstraints.
- ThoroughknowledgeofFERCtransmissiontariffs,interconnectionprocesses,andNERCstandards.
- Willingnessandabilitytotravelifrequired.
