Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join our Real Estate team in New York. Sheppard Mullin is a global Am Law 50 full-service law firm with over 1,200 attorneys across 16 offices worldwide. The New York office currently has over 100 attorneys who practice in a variety of areas including Business Litigation, Corporate Transactions, Real Estate, Finance, Intellectual Property, and more. The New York Real Estate team seeks a mid-level associate with significant training in medium to large loan lender-side mortgage financing transactions. Ideal candidate will have experience with: Drafting first set of loan documents and negotiating ancillary documents. Reviewing and analyzing title commitments and underlying documents, surveys, opinion letters, leases and zoning reports in order to spot and resolve issues that impact lenders during the diligence phase of transactions. Running weekly status calls, managing and overseeing junior associates and paralegals as well as communicating with clients and opposing counsel in a clear and concise manner. Construction loans (especially in NY), loans intended to be sold in the secondary market or pledged as collateral for a warehouse loan, mezzanine loans, and preferred equity investments a plus. Requirements and Details: 4-5 years of experience working on varied real estate finance transactions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong academic credentials from top-tier law school Presence and composure to manage small teams Resume, cover letter, and law school transcript are required to apply. Candidates must be admitted to and a member in good standing of the New York bar. The pay range for this position is: $260,000 to $365,000 per year.
