Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Health Services (SRMTHS) seeks a dedicated and qualifiedpsychiatrist to provide high-quality mental health services to Tribal members, veterans, andthe broader Akwesasne community. Care is delivered in a patient-centered medical home andteam-based model, with a focus on holistic, full-patient care across all age groups.SRMTHS offers a collaborative and empowering environment, where providers lead indelivering comprehensive healthcare services. With an integrated approach, SRMTHS includesmedical, dental, mental health, and addiction services, along with on-site pharmacy and
laboratory facilities.

Scheduleof thePsychiatrist:

• Estimated 40 hours per month.

Responsibilities ofPsychiatrist:

1. Patient Care:

• Provide psychiatric care to eligible community members, adheringto American Psychiatric Association standards and applicable state and local laws.
• Evaluate patients and create individualized treatment plans based on biological, psychological, and social factors.
• Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring careful consideration of current patient prescriptions and interactions.
• Provide verbal therapies and medication therapy management as needed.

2. Clinical Supervision & Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including psychologists, nurses, and casemanagers, to assess and adjust treatment plans.
• Offer clinical oversight for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Licensed Master Social Workers.
• Act as clinical oversight for the Mental Health Department to support billing processes.

3. Additional Services:

• Participate in a team approach to mental health treatment, including consultations withpersonnel.
• Conduct mental health in-service training and participate in quality review/assurance meetings as required.
• Provide telephone consultations and, when clinically appropriate, conduct home visits.
• Refer patients to other practitioners when necessary and coordinate services with the Director.

4. Administrative Duties:

• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and comply with policies andNYS Office of Mental Health (NYSOMH) standards.
• Submit data collection reports to support the billing process.

Requirements

• Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) with board certification in Psychiatry.
  
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the applicable state with no history of suspensionor reprimand.
  
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical psychiatric experience, preferably in diverse or Tribalpopulations.

Benefits
