Holland & Hart is seeking an attorney to join our dynamic Privacy & Data Security team in either the Denver or Boulder location. We are looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running. Our Privacy & Data Security team advises and counsels clients in a wide variety of industries on privacy and security compliance, privacy and security diligence in M&A deals, privacy and security risk assessments, responding to and mitigating data security breaches, artificial intelligence, and everything in between. We also are focused on navigating complex data protection regulations, drafting meticulous privacy policies, and counseling clients through the intricacies of safeguarding sensitive information in various transactions. This position will provide substantial opportunities for client contact and developing one?s skills. Position Description This position involves counseling clients on data privacy and cybersecurity compliance matters. Responsibilities The position will require a candidate who can: Provide expert legal advice on a range of consumer privacy matters. Counsel clients on compliance matters involving the CPA, CCPA, CPRA, COPPA, FCRA, FERPA, GDPR, GLBA, HIPAA, and TCPA, and other laws regulating the collection, use, and handling of data and personal information. Conduct legal research and stay abreast of evolving privacy laws and regulations. Draft and review privacy notices and policies, terms of service, and compliance documentation. Assist in the development of privacy compliance programs for clients. Assist with data breach notification requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals. Candidate Requirements Description The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience at a top national or international law firm and in privacy and cybersecurity space with demonstrated knowledge of technical aspects of complying with comprehensive privacy laws. The candidate must have excellent communication, analytical, and research skills, and be a strong writer. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team and have a willingness to collaborate in person on demanding projects. Ideal Candidate Description At least one IAPP certification. Demonstrated experience counseling clients and drafting relevant documentation, notices, disclosures, and policies for privacy and security compliance matters. Experience with handling data breach investigations, notifications, privacy assessments, and data mapping exercises. Experience drafting and negotiating data protection and security terms in commercial transactions. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to think creatively and think outside the box. They will be confident, adaptable, and willing to engage in complex legal challenges and show an eagerness to develop their skills and grow within the field of data privacy and cybersecurity. Compensation and Expectations Holland & Hart?s compensation is merit-based?you'll be evaluated on your individual performance and achievements. As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act, Holland & Hart is providing a good faith salary range for this position (if based in Colorado): $200,000 - $265,000. Our generous bonus program rewards financial contributions and hard work and associates are also eligible for fee splits. Judicial clerks are eligible for a one-time bonus immediately following the completion of a judicial clerkship with a federal appellate, federal district, tax court, state supreme court, or state appellate court. Holland & Hart expects associates to invest 1800 hours on billable matters, 75 hours of pro bono/public service work (or 50 hours of pro bono legal work), in addition to at least 25 hours dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
