We are seeking a Principal Program Manager to join our Reverse Logistics (ReLo) Operations Excellence (ROE) team. In this strategic role, you will spearhead initiatives to standardize and optimize reverse logistics operations across our global network and business verticals. Working closely with operations and business leaders, you will drive consistency in processes, technology implementation, and initiative prioritization throughout our worldwide ReLo network. The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor with excellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to work independently while fostering strong cross-functional relationships. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, effective writing, and precise planning to deliver on objectives across multiple timeframes - from weekly targets to yearly goals. You will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels across geographic regions, while coaching functional leadership and partners on operational policies and tools. We seek a self-motivated, passionate professional who pays careful attention to detail and can drive holistic operational excellence throughout the organization. Your ability to build consensus, implement standardized solutions, and measure success across diverse business units will be crucial to advancing our global reverse logistics capabilities.

Key job responsibilities

Assessment & Analysis

Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing reverse logistics capabilities, processes, safety standards, and operational configurations across all geographical regions

Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for standardization

Develop analytical frameworks to evaluate operational parity across the network

Create data-driven assessments of current state operations and future state requirements

Strategy & Planning

Design and socialize mental models for prioritizing parity initiatives based on business impact and feasibility

Partner across ROE pillar leads and other teams to develop comprehensive standardization strategies

Create multi-year roadmaps for achieving operational excellence and parity across the network

Define clear metrics to measure progress and success

Leadership & Influence

Drive strategic alignment across senior leadership stakeholders and business units

Influence annual planning cycles and resource allocation to support parity initiatives

Lead executive-level presentations and reviews to secure buy-in for strategic initiatives

Build and maintain strong partnerships with regional operations leaders

Program Management

Oversee large-scale, complex programs spanning multiple regions and business verticals

Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements

Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies

Drive regular program reviews and status updates with key stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience

Bachelor's degree

Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Proven track record of influencing senior leadership and driving organizational change

Deep understanding of reverse logistics operations and supply chain management

Experience working with global teams and managing cross-cultural initiatives

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and presentation abilities

MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
