THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT COLORADO RESIDENTS.
Lateral Hires ? Applicants with qualified experience will be paid within the step system equivalent to their experience, up to $88,740 annually for 5+ years of experience as a sworn police officer. Qualified experience must come from a like-sized or larger municipal, state, county, or university policing agency, where the applicant served as a patrol officer, investigator, or supervisor. In order to qualify as a lateral, applicants must be currently employed, or employed within the last 6 months at a law enforcement agency.
POST-certified applicants who do not meet the criteria for lateral pay, will begin at the base salary and progress through the step system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Current, valid Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification
One year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position
Substitutions:
Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
