Patient Registrar/Phlebotomist - PRN (as needed)

Welcome to Yoakum Community Hospital! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a PRN (as needed) Patient Registrar/Phlebotomist. At Yoakum Community Hospital, we prioritize compassionate care and superior service to our community.

In this role, you will perform established procedures for opening/closing of the Patient Access office, as well as greet and assist patients and visitors in a manner consistent with our hospital's customer service experience guidelines. You will also be responsible for processing inpatient and outpatient admissions, registering patients according to established procedures, and answering telephone calls and directing them to the proper extension.

Additionally, as a Patient Registrar/Phlebotomist, you will draw blood from patients for analysis or other medical purposes. You will verify patient records and identities, and effectively communicate with patients to alleviate any fears or concerns about the procedures.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and can efficiently perform venipunctures to obtain blood specimens. Being proficient in collecting specimens from all age ranges, from newborns to geriatric patients, is essential.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma preferred or (GED) general education degree;
• Phlebotomy Certification is required;
• One (1) to two (2) years of experience preferred;
• Experience in medical office or registration preferred;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Proficient in collecting specimens from all age ranges - newborn to geriatric;
• Adequate computer skills and specimen processing required.
