Patent Litigation Technical Advisor

Whether defending against claims of infringement or enforcing exclusive patent rights, we develop and execute litigation strategies that align with the business goals of our clients. Responsibilities Mintz is seeking a technical advisor to join the IP Litigation team in our Boston office. Candidates should have a background in electrical engineering and prior industry experience. Candidates who are currently in law school or plan to attend are encouraged to apply. Specific duties include: Reviewing and analyzing technical literature, patents and patent application documents Understanding, critiquing and providing insights on technical data Working with attorneys and experts on infringement and validity issues Analyzing products in connection with claims of patent infringement Supporting the development of global patent portfolio development strategies Working with attorneys on expert reports and witness examinations Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Therefore, the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm?s published guidelines. Qualifications Prior industry experience and a degree in electrical engineering is preferred Ability to verbally present and explain complex technical concepts, terms and discoveries to a range of audiences, including attorneys with technical and non-technical backgrounds Ability to synthesize a large amount of technical literature into a systematic description Ability to differentiate and describe differences in technological breakthroughs About Mintz Mintz is an Am Law 100 law firm with over 500 attorneys serving clients worldwide. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. This position is bonus eligible. Mintz offers a comprehensive benefits package.
