Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Draft simple pleadings for final review by attorney Draft initial discovery to meet circumstances of case for final review by attorney Obtain signed authorizations and/or prepare Notices of Intention to Serve Subpoena Prepare Certificate Prerequisites Arrange for service of subpoenas Track all dates for docket follow-up Request appropriate records from medical providers and follow up until received Organize and summarize medical records Schedule and draft Notices of Deposition Compile documents needed for use at deposition Initiate new file analysis including initial review of documents, conflicts check, and create new file memo summarizing case for review by attorney Meet or talk with witnesses and draft memo to file summarizing conversation Prepare status summaries for use at roundtable or internal case status meetings Research jury verdicts and background checks for claimants and witnesses Update and maintain case lists and attorney case counts Close files and prepare them for storage Compile regular audits of active cases for activity and impending deadlines Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree or one to two 3 years of related General Liability experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination required; 1 year of education and experience.legal defense experience required. 5+ years paralegal experience preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred; Paralegal certification required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred. Must be a self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills, and outstanding communication skills with the ability to work as a team member in a high-volume fast paced work environment. The salary rage for this position is $55,000-75,000 and represents C&W?s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, included but not limited to experience and qualifications.
