PACU Nurse

As a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse, you will play a vital role in the recovery process for patients emerging from anesthesia. You will be responsible for closely monitoring patients post-surgery, assessing their vital signs, managing pain, and ensuring their comfort as they recover. • Monitor patients closely for any complications or adverse reactions after surgery.
• Assess and manage patients' pain levels effectively.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the healthcare team.
• Provide education to patients and their families about post-operative care.
• Document all patient information and nursing interventions accurately.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgeons to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Respond to emergencies swiftly and act as a patient advocate during the recovery process.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a PACU or critical care environment preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to make quick decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients and families.
• Knowledge of pain management techniques and post-anesthesia care.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
