Our collaborative, interdisciplinary team of therapists use evidence-based, traditional, and innovative therapy methods that address the individual needs of each child. We have immediate openings for full time, part time and PRN Pediatric Occupational Therapists who are enthusiastic, caring, compassionate, resourceful, and motivated. Responsibilities:
- Complete documentation for all pre-authorizations, initial evaluations, re-evaluations, insurance reports, medical reviews, appeal processes and progress reports
- Participate in weekly individual and multidisciplinary case-based group mentoring
- Provide 1:1 therapeutic intervention and group instruction based on client needs
- Utilize goals and objectives to develop and implement treatment plans; adjust plans as needed
- Educate family/caregivers on disorders, treatments, interventions, and at-home practices
- Collaborate with other clinicians and the child's physician and/or school when needed
- Maintain OT equipment, and conduct staff training and safety checks for equipment use
- Complete new patient intakes and parental interviews for therapy
- Conduct evaluations to identify client's needs
Requirements
- OTR/L (required) or OTD
- Current license from the State of Illinois in Occupational Therapy (required)
- Personable, playful, positive, and patient with the ability to effectively build rapport with children and families
- Strong knowledge of child development (specifically birth to 18 years) (preferred)
- Previous or current experience working with children (preferred)
- Experience with sensory processing disorders (preferred)
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced position
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Must be dog-friendly. Therapy dogs onsite
