MRI Technologist

MRI TECH (Part-Time)

General Summary:
The MRI Technologist performs quality images on Esaote S-Scan musculoskeletal MRI per physician's orders while providing excellent care to patients. The Esaote S-Scan is a low field (.25T) open scanner. All MSK work is performed without contrast, primarily focusing on knee, shoulder, and hip imaging. All protocols are pre-built into the system, and applications support is available via phone.

Essential Functions:

• Perform MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for physicians' diagnostic and treatment purposes.
• Inform and prepare patients for procedures while providing excellent patient care.
• Maintain patient files, including internal and external images.
• Prepare, clean, and stock the work area with supplies.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintain necessary precautions for exposure to the static magnetic field and non-ionizing radiation/radio frequencies.
• Communicate implant safety concerns and expectations to care teams and patients to ensure patient comfort during MRI exams.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Healthcare Setting: Clinic

Schedule: Any consistent combination of three days between Monday and Thursday.

Experience:

• MRI: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• ARRT Certification (Required)

Work Location: Near West location 2641 W Harrison Street, Chicago, IL 60612.

Requirements

Ability to:

• Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines.
• Complete job required training.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.) Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
• Work in the clinic during business hours
• Travel independently throughout the clinic (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
• Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
• Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Understand and execute a variety of instructions
• Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
• Work independently with minimal supervision

Essential Job Responsibilities: Engages patients in the Genesis Experience through advanced and personalized care.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of an ARRT-approved program.
• ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance is required.
• Applicants with ARRT (RT) certification may be considered, with training provided for the MRI unit.
