Job Description

The New York office of Akin is seeking an associate with 2+ years of transactional tax experience at a large law firm or equivalent experience at a big four accounting firm. Candidates should have experience with negotiating and drafting tax-related provisions for a variety of transaction documents including purchase agreements, merger agreements, partnership agreements, and credit agreements. Candidates should also have experience researching complex tax issues and structuring the tax aspect of corporate and partnership transactions. The ideal candidate will have a transactional tax practice with experience in tax planning related to transactions in one or more of the following areas: mergers and acquisitions, private equity, debt finance, bankruptcy/financial restructuring, special situations, and/or private credit. Candidate must exhibit Akin?s core values: future-focused, diversity-minded, dedicated to excellence, service-oriented and collaborative. Stellar academic credentials and comparable law firm experience are required. This position is required to be available to work in person. All employees are required to comply with the firm?s employment policies. The base salary range for this position in New York City is $225,000 to $415,000.
