GSI is seeking a talented, passionate, and highly motivated professional to join the team as a

Maintenance Manager . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and cost-effective maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant equipment, systems, and ensuring maximum production quantity and quality while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

Develops and drives TPM objectives throughout the plant to optimize production efficiencies and has implementation and management responsibilities for LOTO for the plant.

You will work onsite at our Assumption, IL facility.

Your Impact

Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.

Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.

Oversees and maintain repairs maintenance shop equipment and facilities.

Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.

Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.

Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.

Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.

Ensures that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures.

Monitors operation of plant equipment, systems. Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs utilizing the current continuous improvement system within the plant.

Tracks, analyzes, and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.

Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance.

Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.

Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.

Implements programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness and 5S compliance plant-wide and within own department.

Assists with site capital planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.

Report all near-misses, incidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment or property damage.

Your Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.

Prefer LEAN certification with working knowledge of implementing lean in a maintenance organization or within a manufacturing plant.

Working knowledge of the mechanical and electrical aspects of plant-based maintenance; skilled in TPM and Reliability Engineering are preferred.

Extensive experience with repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment in a steel fabrication environment as well as the management and maintenance of the plant systems and physical facilities.
