Metal Bandsaw Operator
Job Overview:
1 Resource Group is hiring for an experienced Metal Bandsaw Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining metal bandsaw machines to cut various types of metal materials to precise specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate metal bandsaw machines to cut metal stock, including steel, aluminum, and other alloys, according to work orders and blueprints.
Measure and mark materials for cutting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Select appropriate blades and adjust cutting speeds based on the type and thickness of metal.
Secure materials properly and ensure safe and accurate cutting operations.
Inspect finished cuts for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
Perform routine maintenance, including blade changes, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime.
Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and deadlines.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Metal Bandsaw Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
Knowledge of different types of metal materials and their cutting requirements.
Familiarity with measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Understanding of safety standards and procedures in metal cutting operations.
Physical ability to stand, lift, and work for extended periods.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
