Heartland Medical , a subsidiary of Prescott's, Inc is at the forefront of the medical device industry, specializing in the distribution and refurbishment of medical equipment. With a strong emphasis on innovation and excellence, we prioritize quality service to ensure healthcare professionals have access to top-of-the-line equipment. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Medical Device Assembler Technician to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in the assembly and refurbishment of medical devices, specifically anesthesia systems, patient monitors, infusion pumps and other devices used in hospitals and surgery centers. Your meticulous approach and technical skills will ensure that all products meet strict quality and safety standards. As part of our team, you will contribute to enhancing patient care through your work.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a variety of duties including refurbishing, testing, assembly, fabricating, cleaning, prepping, and rebuilding of anesthesia systems, ESU systems, Patient Monitors, Infusion pumps and other devices
  • Assists with testing or troubleshooting surgical tables or surgical lights
  • Assemble veterinary anesthesia machines or oxygen concentrators
  • Rebuilds and calibrates anesthetic vaporizers
  • Manage incoming QC and outgoing QC
  • Sorts and bags used goods as "ready to sell" with all cables and manuals
  • Inspect components and devices for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting on assembled devices.
  • Document assembly processes and maintain accurate records of production and quality control.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory management and component organization.
  • Consults with sales and technical staff to determine if equipment should be written off, removed from inventory, or used as parts.

Work Environment

Work is performed inside a warehouse; mostly standing in a semi air-conditioned warehouse. Professional office environment/office building, with ambient temperature and under florescent lighting, with minimal noise levels. Incumbent routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, phone, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-2+ years of experience in medical device assembly or similar hands-on technical role.
  • Experience with soldering and small-scale assembly processes is preferred.
  • Must have visual skills to operate medical equipment for inspecting work.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain detailed records of inventory and assessments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, if necessary
  • Willingness to learn new procedures and technologies related to medical equipment refurbishment and testing.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must be hands-on, self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to travel to hospitals to coordinate the removal or installation of goods bought or sold.

Pay: $23.00 per hour
