Job Description

Title: Managing Counsel

Exemption Status: Exempt

About the Role

The Managing Counsel will function as a member of the senior management team reporting directly to the CEO of Linbeck Group, LLC. The Managing Counsel is the Project Support Services department leader. Duties also include providing general legal guidance and problem-solving advice to the CEO, senior managers, project teams, and other internal departments.

Skills & Qualifications

BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
Current license to practice law in Texas
10+ years of experience in transactional law. Experience in construction and/or insurance is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent problem solving and training skills

Primary Duties

Prepare and review owner contracts, subcontracts, purchase contracts, service agreements, consulting agreements, equipment leases, settlement agreements, JV and teaming agreements, and other legal documents.
Collaborate with project leadership in negotiating contract terms with owners, consultants, partners, and subcontractors.
Advise and coordinate legal support to internal departments and project teams.
Collaborate with CEO in the selection and management of external counsel, litigation, and claims.
Draft and update templates and internal guidelines for approval by CEO
Organize and present training on legal and risk management topics.
Facilitate task force and committee meetings.
Supervise PSS Facilitators and Coordinators.
Prepare and monitor PSS budget.

Must be physically fit enough to function safely on a project site and office setting. This includes the following:

Expresses or exchanges ideas through spoken word (Speak), preferably English.
Perceives the nature of sound with no less than a 40db loss @ 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz, and 2,000 Hz with or without correct (Hear)
Is subject to substantial repetitive motions of the body and or its parts
Must have good depth perception, field of vision, near acuity
Frequently exposed to weather (occasionally extreme cold, extreme heat, wet, and/or humid, exposure to dust and fumes, and working in highly exposed places)
