Job Description


This is a position for a dedicated and driven Maintenance Mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are highly motivated, adaptable, and ready to support facility operations while participating in an on-call rotation. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience with production equipment, pumps, chillers, air handlers, boilers, and general facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair tasks across the Fort Dodge site, including production equipment, mechanical systems, and infrastructure. Duties range from basic upkeep to advanced repairs involving HVAC, electrical systems, and other mechanical components.
  • Manage and execute regular inspections and maintenance schedules for machinery.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and carry out repairs directly or through coordination with external vendors.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, company SOPs, and best practices at all times.
  • Efficiently complete and document work orders.
  • Prioritize tasks and plan daily workload to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage spare parts and supply inventory.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and contractors when required.
  • Process payments related to vendor services.
  • Provide support to MSaTs for maintaining environmental control systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Completion of a two-year technical program from a vocational school or community college, or at least five years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations.
  • Strong communication, organization, and written skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and service providers.
  • Familiarity with factory operations and production technologies.
  • Basic proficiency in electrical systems.
  • Broad mechanical knowledge, including systems for gas, electrical, water, cooling, and production equipment.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and general maintenance software.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently.
