Job Description
The Locum Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. This position requires an experienced and compassionate healthcare professional with a strong understanding of cardiology and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and ordering diagnostic tests
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and patient education
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless and coordinated care
- Perform procedures such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), blood pressure monitoring, and stress tests
- Interpret diagnostic test results and make appropriate recommendations
- Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies
- Provide compassionate and supportive care to patients and their families
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in cardiology and incorporate them into practice
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant (PA) studies from an accredited institution
- Current RN or PA license in the state of employment
- Board certification in cardiology or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care
